Coordinating Center
All All Consortium activities are coordinated through the METRC Coordinating Center (MCC) located at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
The MCC works closely with METRC governance to ensure that protocols are appropriately designed, executed, and analyzed. The MCC is directed by Renan C. Castillo, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy & Management. Lisa Reider, PhD and Katherine Frey, PhD are Associate Directors, and Lauren Allen, PhD, is the Director of Operations. Other senior faculty members within the departments of Health Policy & Management, Biostatistics, and Epidemiology act in advisory capacity to the MCC Executive Management Team.
The scientific work of the MCC is organized around four central functions: 1) protocol development and implementation, 2) data management and analysis, 3) informatics, and 4) data quality assurance and monitoring. Staff of the Coordinating Center form study teams responsible for all aspects of study design and implementation, with members of the teams representing each of the above central functions. The Coordinating Center, with the support of institutional resources provided by Johns Hopkins, is also responsible for financial management and contract management for the Consortium.
